Since its incorporation in 1983, Lawson Banner’s objective has never deviated from providing professional services to small business with a focus on the Building Industry trades.
Initially operating as a computerised bookkeeping bureau, as computers became more commonplace in the mid 80's, Lawson Banner started selling computer systems (hardware & software), to small contracting businesses, newsagents & other Australian small businesses.
Recognising the need for a more tailored solution for the various building trades, Lawson Banner launched the first version of Tradesman in 1987. The acceptance of this DOS based software was overwhelming due to its low cost, ease of use & the back up service provided by Lawson Banner. In the early 90's (thanks to the genius of Bill Gates) as computers became more affordable & easier to operate, the first Windows™ version of Tradesman was released & has continued to evolve through ever changing business requirements, multi-user, Y2K & the introduction of G.S.T..
In 1994 after an extensive evaluation program, Lawson Banner was chosen by Australia's largest electrical distributor ALH - Auslec / Lawrence & Hanson (now Hagemeyer) to develop NecaBiz, an electrical contracting business software package. This gave small contractors access to an electrical items database that previously only the larger contractors could afford to subscribe to.
Lawson Banner has a customer retention rate that is well above average & still have many users from the 1987 days. This is directly attributable to their excellent support services, where each customer is valued & treated as an individual.
As the evolution continues, the latest product PayPerWork® will replace & combine both Tradesman & NecaBiz to bring Lawson Banners current clients into the new age, as well as attract many new users to their unique user friendly software.
Lawson Banners philosophy is quite simple - "You're a tradesperson not an accountant. You do the job you know best & let your software be your accountant."
